As part of the campaign “Our Air, Not KEK’s”, designed by the children of the Environmental Children Assembly (ECA) and the Municipal Children’s Assembly (AKF), within the Generation Hope initiative, during this week a meeting was held with the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA).
During the meeting, the children had the opportunity to directly ask questions to the Executive Director of the Agency and other representatives regarding air quality in Kosovo, the monitoring and reporting of air quality data, as well as the plans and measures to be undertaken in the coming years to improve the current situation.
The discussion also focused on the inclusion of children and youth in environmental policymaking and decision making processes. The children also had the opportunity to share concrete ideas for their involvement, such as installing digital boards in schools that display real-time air quality information, as well as simplifying access to published data to make it more easily accessible for children and youth.
